1. What is Oceansation Festival?  

What?
A youth festival which adapting the elements of camping, music, arts, adventure and nature.

April 29 until May 1 in 2017, three day and two nights.

Celebrating Life. Their main three focuses are on celebrating unity, nature, and talent.

Ages 18-35 with varied demographic.

Come join us! You can expect a fun-packed activity. This will be the first of a kind festival to be held at this amazing venue.

2. How do we get there?

3. How do I get around Perhentian Island?

Walking is the only means of getting around the island. There is boat taxi available to get to the surrounding islands. Please note there are fees involved for boat taxi services that are paid directly to the boat operator.

4. Who can attend Oceansation Festival?

Oceansation Festival is an 18+ event. You will be required to fill in your personal information before purchasing your tickets.

5. Can I bring my camera in?

Yes, bring all you have! Borrow if you have to! Waterproof and sports camera are highly recommended.

6. Are there ATMs at Oceansation Festival?

There are no ATMs on festival grounds, so make sure you bring enough cash to eat, shop and enjoy your day (and night!)

7. What happens if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event, so you will be contending with Mother Nature. Think carefully about what to bring. Ponchos, hats, sunblock could be useful at times.

8. What are the Do’s and Don’ts in Oceansation Festival?

No drugs, no weapons, no pet(s), no fireworks & no sharp objects allowed. For a full list please refer to Terms and Conditions section.

9. Where is the surau?

There is a surau located near the campground. However, you can pray anywhere on the island. Remember to bring some mats.

10. Where do I park my car?

There are many gated private car parking services around Kuala Besut jetty. The services normally include sending you to the jetty from the parking area. Prices may vary so ask around before you decide.

11. Where can I charge my phone?

Sorry electricity is limited on the island and there are no power points available on the festival ground. So bring your own Power Bank! Solar powered Power Bank could be a good idea.

12. What documents should I bring with me?

You should bring your Identity Card or passport, printed out the ticket and your medical prescription card if you have for emergency use.

Campers who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented to participate in the festival. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring a proper documentation.

13. Can I bring my own alcohol?

Campers are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines or non-alcoholic beverages in the festival for consumption or any other use on festival duration. Alcoholic beverages seized on boarding day will not be returned.

14. Is there phone coverage or Wi-Fi or the Internet?

Kindly told, only Celcom work with full coverage and Internet connection. Another Telco is sucked here. No Wi-Fi provided.
1. What is included in the General Admission ticket price?

The price of the general admission pass includes:

  • 3 days and 2 nights campground permit
  • Round trip boat transfer from Kuala Besut Jetty to Perhentian Island
  • All meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Total meals for the whole festival are 7 meals.
  • Marine Park fee
  • Entry to all Oceansation Festival and entertainment at the beach
  • Get a free Oceansation Festival t-shirt
Your Oceansation Festival basic price does NOT include:

Tent Rental - We highly recommend all campers to bring their own tent. But if they cannot do so, we also provide tent rental service. Please refer to the Add-Ons at the ticketing. Tents are limited.

Snorkeling trip - We have one snorkeling trip in our Add-Ons, which will visit four (4) snorkeling sites around the island. For those who don’t fancy boat snorkeling, the house reef near the festival area is also perfect to explore and enjoy. All snorkeling equipment will be provided on the snorkeling trip only.

Travel Insurance – Organizer does not provide the travel insurance to all campers. But yes, we recommend that camper purchase a travel insurance to protect you against any financial loss due to any unexpected cancellation and travel emergencies.

Airfare or any transportation expenses to Kuala Besut Jetty – For this issue on how to get to the Kuala Besut Jetty, the organizer is trying to help the campers by providing a round trip bus service to and from Kuala Besut Jetty, but only with limited seats. Kindly refer to the Add-Ons at the ticketing to reserve your slot.

2. Do you offer payment plans?

No, we do not offer any payment plans. Only full payments are accepted.

3. Can I make the change to my ticket?

No, any tickets are not changeable or transferable or cancellable. No refunds if any of this happened.

4. What if I’m pregnant?

Oceansation Festival is not in a position to accommodate any pregnant individual. There are too many risks involved, from the bumpy boat ride to the uneven grounds, which could be harmful in any stage of pregnancy.

5. It’s my friends or mine birthday or anniversary! How do I let the Oceansation Festival’s comrades know?

Congratulations! Oceansation Tribe loves special events and we are excited that you are celebrating your special event with us! Once you have booked, let us know of your special event by emailing us. We will try our best to accommodate your request.

You can also call our hotline number. We will provide the number few weeks prior to the festival.

7. As a camper, can I promote my brand, goods or service?

We are here to have fun. As a camper, you are not allowed to promote or sell any goods or service at Oceansation Festival. Anyone caught or reported to be in breach of this clause will be evicted from the festival as soon as possible.
1. Can I set up a camp at the festival ground?

It is a camping based festival so yes you can! But all camps are to be set only on permitted camping ground.

2. How many times will the food be served?

Only basic meal of the day will be provided.

Day 1: Lunch and Dinner Day 2: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Day 3: Breakfast, Lunch

3. Can I bring my own food?

Yes. The organizer provides all basic meals during this event but if you need more, bring more.

4. Do I need to bring drinking water?

Yes! Drinking water could be gold on the island. Please bring enough to keep you hydrated!

5. I’m coming to Oceansation Festival alone. Can you group me up with other campers to share the tent with?

Yes we can! We have allocated four (4) or fewer campers for a tent to be shared with. For security reasons, males will be paired with males, and females with females.

Tents grouping will be made at the Check-In Table near the jetty on April 29th, 2017 morning.

If you are planning to stay with your own group, organizer recommends you to bring your own tent. Otherwise, tent rental service is still provided for the group campers. Please gather your group members first before you guys register at the Check-In Table near the jetty

6. What should I pack?

It is suggested that camper pack lightweight with casual clothing – a few swimsuits, flip-flop, sandal or shoes for walk around the island. If you like to exercise or participate in beach games or yoga, bring any fitness clothing and footwear you may need.

All the shows, events, and activities will be taking place outdoors and by the beach, and there will be the chance of it being windy, cool or even a little wet. So we would also suggest you to pack some warmer clothing and light rain gear just to be in the safe side.

Also be sure to bring your cameras, torchlights, batteries and power banks with enough memories and power. Don’t forget earplugs if you wish to rest early at night and also sunscreen and lip balm. It could be a little chilly at night. For a goodnight sleep, bring along your sleeping bag or blanket.

You will also want to make sure you bring some music instruments to cheer up your friends and other campers. If you are a music performer, please let us know.

7. What you shouldn’t pack?

Campers are NOT allowed to bring in the Oceansation Festival area any weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substance or any goods of a dangerous nature, animals of any kind, sharp objects such as knifes or any kind. All Malaysia and international laws pertaining to drug use should be respected and will be strictly enforced.

8. Is there Medical Centre in the festival?

Yes. Oceansation Festival has a well-equipped first aid kit. Please note, however, that they are equipped to provide only basic medical care, and may not offer care for conditions requiring specialized expertise or equipment. Campers with such conditions, or in the event of an emergency, may be evacuated at their own expense. There is a local medical center on the island. All is well.

9. I have special meal requirements. Would you be able to accommodate them?

Yes, we will endeavor to accommodate reasonable requests, although we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet the requirements.

10. I want my tent to be located next to my friends. How do I request that?

You can choose and select your tents if you come to register early in the morning at the Check-In Table near the jetty area. Come register with your group members. We cannot accommodate this request if you register separately.
1. When should I schedule my transportation arrival and departure?

Oceansation Festival takes place from Saturday, April 29 to Monday, May 1, 2017, at Perhentian Island, Terengganu.

Registration starts from 6 AM to 10 AM on Saturday, April 29th at Kuala Besut Jetty. You should plan your arrival 30 minutes early the morning to give you ample time to make your way to the jetty.

Events are expected to finish by 3 PM on Monday, May 1, 2017. You can schedule any transportation departure at 5 PM onwards on May 1, 2017.

2. Where should I stay before and after the festival?

Kuala Besut is a fairly small town. The jetty is on average a 5-10 minutes walking from the town center. So staying anywhere around Kuala Besut town is fine. Budget hotels can be found easily here.
